Readings: NEA via Data.gov.sg PM2.5. Health bands: NEA/Haze. PSI uses the NEA sub-index formula; PSI 3h uses the mean concentration from the latest three hourly observations.

How PSI is calculated

PSI combines readings for six pollutants. Each pollutant is converted to its own PSI sub-index using the NEA concentration scale:

PM2.5PM10SO₂ COO₃NO₂

PSI 1h: uses the latest hourly concentration for each pollutant.
PSI 3h: averages each pollutant’s concentrations across the latest three hourly readings before calculating its sub-index.
Overall PSI: the highest of the six pollutant sub-indices, rounded to a whole number.
PSI 24h: uses the value reported by NEA.

1-hour and 3-hour PSI values are calculated from available pollutant readings and are DIFFERENT from NEA’s reported 24-hour PSI.
